Food PACKAGES

The Killarney and Area Foodbank provides food to whoever needs it, regardless of gender, race, skin colour, ethnic or national origin, sexuality, disability, religious or political belief, marital status or age.

Food packages are distributed bi-weekly at the foodbank (715 Mountain Avenue). Appointments are necessary.  Customers may call the toll free number to request a food package for that week or to register as a new customer.  Deadline for requests is the Tuesday before distribution day at noon.

Current distribution takes place in the morning and afternoon as needed.

As of February 9th, 2023, all customers will be able to shop for their groceries in the foodbank.  We will no longer be requiring in person shoppers to be vaccinated.  However, masks will still be mandatory.  If you don't have a mask, one will be provided.

Generally, a food package includes a selection of eggs, bread, fruit/vegetables, meat and non-perishables such as pasta, rice, oatmeal and soup. Vouchers which are redeemable at the Coop Grocery Store in Killarney are provided to buy fresh milk for families with young children.

A limited supply of personal hygiene items is also available.

We cannot guarantee specific items will be in your package, but do our best to follow Canada’s Food Guide to provide healthy and nutritious food.

If you have any questions or have any specific dietary needs (such as diabetes or allergies) please contact us.
