Can we help you?

The Killarney and Area Foodbank provides food to whoever needs it, regardless of gender, race, skin colour, ethnic or national origin, sexuality, disability, religious or political belief, marital status or age.

Food packages are distributed bi-weekly at the foodbank (715 Mountain Avenue). Appointments are necessary. Clients may call the toll free number to register as a new client or to request a food package for that week. Deadline for requests is the Tuesday before distribution day at noon.

Current distribution takes place in the morning and afternoon as needed.

At present, due to COVID 19 restrictions, no one is able to wait in the building. Clients who have been double vaccinated can shop in the foodbank and those who are not yet vaccinated can receive curbside pick up by appointment.

Generally, a food package includes a selection of eggs, bread, fruit/vegetables, meat and non-perishables such as pasta, rice, oatmeal and soup. Vouchers which are redeemable at the Coop Grocery Store in Killarney are provided to buy fresh milk for families with young children.

A limited supply of personal hygiene items is also available.

We cannot guarantee specific items will be in your package, but do our best to follow Canada’s Food Guide to provide healthy and nutritious food.

If you have any questions, need to schedule a different time to collect food, or have an indisposition requiring specific dietary needs (such as diabetes or allergies) please contact us.
